Reading the Space Before the Tank
Every project begins with the room itself. We spend time understanding how light moves across the wall, where people naturally stand and move, how humidity behaves in the space, and what architectural lines the tank should echo or soften. A beautiful aquascape in the wrong place becomes a distraction. A considered one, placed right, becomes part of the architecture.
We measure sightlines, note seasonal light changes, check for heat sources and vibration, and listen to how you want to interact with the piece — casual glance from the kitchen, or meditative focal point. The tank doesn't fight the room; it completes it.
This foundation work means fewer mistakes, faster installation, and a piece that feels inevitable in its space rather than imposed upon it.

Living Materials, Not Decorations
We source hardscape with an eye toward how it will weather and settle over years. Seiryu stone, dragon stone, carefully selected driftwood—each piece is chosen not just for its form on day one, but for how it will support root growth, bacterial colonization, and visual maturation.
Every plant in an Aqua Foundry tank is chosen for its role in the ecosystem and its growth trajectory. We design for year-two appearance: when stem plants have filled in, when mosses have softened edges, when the whole composition has settled into its mature character. That first installation photo is never the design target.
This approach means your tank becomes richer and more integrated as time passes, not more tired.
Balance Over Bloom
A tank that crashes after six months—no matter how stunning it looked on install day—is a failure. We prioritize biological stability: correct filtration, appropriate stocking density, proper plant-to-fish ratios, and realistic maintenance rhythms for your schedule and commitment.
A balanced system is quieter to maintain and more resilient to the small inevitable shifts that happen in any living space. We'd rather deliver a modest, enduring tank than a dramatic, fragile one.

Build, Install, and Commission
Design & Rendering
We develop layouts, sourcing plans, and material specifications. You see rendered concepts and a detailed build timeline before any work begins.
Sourcing & Construction
Hardscape is sourced and arranged. Plumbing, filtration, and substrate are built and tested in studio or on-site, depending on the project scale and your preference.
Cycling & Planting
The system runs through a supervised biological cycling period—typically three to four weeks. Once stable, we plant and introduce livestock, then monitor closely through the first month.
The Long-Term Partnership
Handover is not the end. We offer ongoing maintenance visits as an optional service: water testing, pruning and plant management, equipment checks, and seasonal adjustments. We discuss this partnership during your initial commission meeting and build it into the care plan for your piece.
